The Encounter Log is where you record your observations during the consultation with your patient. You can easily do this by recording the patient–provider conversation during an in-person encounter or by dictating an overview of the encounter, and then transcribing the conversation. You can also add text notes during the encounter, capturing observations and other details that may not be in the encounter transcript.
Recording & Transcribing the Consultation
You can conduct your patient encounter as you normally would and start the AI Scribe recording. It works seamlessly, letting you focus on the patient while it organizes the information.
Complete the following checks before clicking Start Recording:
✅ You have allowed browser access to your Microphone
✅ Selected the type of recording – conversation or dictation
✅ The language setting matches the language in your conversation or dictation
✅ Confirmed patient consent to the recording if applicable
✅ Ensured that your mic is working and the volume is not low
Encounter Log Recording In Progress (Web App View)
You can pause/stop recording when you need to and resume again if required. On stopping recording, the application will start transcribing the audio recorded so far. Should you continue recording after that, the additional transcribed content will be appended to the already available transcript. You can review and edit the transcript.

Adding Encounter Notes
You can also type in relevant notes during the encounter, as you talk to your patient or after the encounter. This can include observations from your examination of the patient, such as vital signs and any other details you may wish to record. You can also optionally attach one or more files, if they are relevant to the context of this encounter (note: Attachments added here are currently not included in the AI Consultation Document).

Adding an Encounter Note
Reviewing and Finalizing the Encounter Log
Once you have reviewed the encounter transcript and/or notes, you can mark the Encounter Log as complete. This helps the AI Scribe to understand that you are now ready to create a Consultation Document, should you want to. You can always create documents for your encounter later as well.
Updating the Encounter Log
You can return at any time to add more audio or edit notes. These updates will be included in any new consultation documents you generate. However, it is important to note that should you do so, it is your responsibility to ensure that those changes also reflect in any documents that you may have created before adding updates to the Encounter Log. You can use AI Scribe Chat or manually apply the edits.
